For flue gas dedusting at temperatures up to 260 °C filter media made of high performance polymers are suitable as base materials.
Most of the relevant industrial dedusting processes such as filtration units for municipal waste incinerators, cement plants, coal fired boilers and metallurgical processes operate within a range between 100 °C and 260 °C.
Inspec Fibres GmbH offers 3 products suitable for filter media in the above mentioned operations. Dolanit 12, Procon PPS fibres and P 84 polyimide fibres.
A major parameter for choosing the right material is the temperature resistance of the fibre. For operating temperatures up to 125 °C Dolanit is suitable, up to 160 °C Procon is an excellent alternative and for applications at higher temperatures P84 is a cost effective solution.
