The Market Segment Films & Foams is responsible for marketing & sales of semi-finished products of the business unit High Performance Polymers. Generally these products are used in niche markets, quite often products are customized and have to fulfil high requirements.

Our offering is not limited to the products themselves, but in an ideal way rounded up by our consultancy with respect to applications and fabrication.

Checking the sales range of the different product lines you will see, that our products are available in a wide range of types, thickness, formats and colours. In addition to that it is possible, basing on a sufficient demand, to modify existing products or even to develop completely new products.

Our core technologies are:

Extrusion with a focus on

  • Coextrusion
  • Sheet extrusion (high gloss or structured surfaces) of products with exceptional optical properties
  • Extrusion of two side calandred films
  • Chill-Roll extrusion of films
  • Extrusion of high temperature thermoplastics

Cast polymerisation with a focus on

  • PLEXIGLAS® sheet and blocks with exceptional optical properties
  • Sheet basing on monomers different to MMA

The total production process starting with the purchasing of raw materials and going on with production, logistics and sales is covered by a quality system, that fulfils the rigorous requirements of the aerospace industry.

In particular Performance Plastics combines the following product lines:
  • Technical Films Extruded products made from PLEXIGLAS®, PVDF or polycarbonate in a thickness range from 30 up to 2000µm

  • ROHACELL® Polymethacrylimide hard foam with excellent mechanical and thermal properties

  • SOLIMIDE® Polyimide foam with excellent heat insulation, good acoustical absorption and outstanding flame resistance combined with an exceptional low density

  • Aircraft Products Transparent and coloured sheets and blocks especially modified for applications in aircrafts and ground transportation

  • P84® Polyimide fibres with unique trilobal cross-section providing exceptional surface to volume ratio, exceptional temperature resistance and good chemical resistance

  • Engineering Plastics Sheet extruded from engineering polymers with application focussed properties. Key properties are chemical resistance, heat resistance, impact resistance and electroconductivity
